I am Marvin Bentley; a true Renaissance man from the foothills of North Carolina. I love exploring the arts including the CULINARY ARTS. This site displays many of my recipes; some of which are completely original and many are adapted from old recipe books, from fellow online foodies, and some passed around my community by family and neighbors.
The kitchen represents the heart of family as it nurtures the body and the soul. I have many fond memories of being with my mother and grandmother in the kitchen. I still recall the smells of yeast rolls, green beans, and fried chicken at my great-grandmother’s house when visiting on Sunday afternoons.
